English language skills

I am an English-speaking cardiologist in Paris,  French and trained in France, by no means an English language native. I have a working knowledge of English, allowing effective and accurate communication during the medical consultation.

Practice location

The main practice is located  at Place de la Bastille in  Paris, metro Bastille (metro exit  #7), in the  " Banque de France" building. Intercall " Centre Medical".

Please bring your  available current prescriptions, medical reports and lab results. In doubt, bring your medications or pictures of them.

Opening times

Visits and tests are on appointment only, on Mondays to Fridays, from 9 AM to 7 PM.

Payments

Payments are accepted in cash, French banks checks, and Visa/Mastercard cards (sorry, no Amex).

If you are insured by the French Social Security

The practice operates in "Secteur 1": the prices are determined by the Securite Sociale and reimbursed according to the Social Security rules; in some cases, higher fees can apply, as determined by the agreement with the Securite Sociale.

Beneficiaries of AME and CMU, and also ALD (Affection de Longue Duree, fully insured by the Securite Sociale), do not pay.

In order to have an optimal reimbursement, it is recommended  to have a referral letter from the designated General Practioner, except in cases of emergency.

If you are not insured by the French Social Security

The prices will be agreed upon on an individual basis. The prices will vary from the French Social Security prices, to twice this amount. It is expected that the patient pays the doctor directly, and submits if necessary claims for reimbursement to his/her insurance organization.

Acts performed at the cardiology practice

• Cardiology consulationt  with resting electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG)
• Electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG) for insurance purposes
• Cardiovascular prevention consultation
• Cardiac ultrasound (or transthoracic echocardiogram or TTE) with EF measurement
• 24 hour continuous ambulatory rythm monitoring (or holter)
• 24 hour continuous ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (or ABPM)
• Cervical arteries ultrasound (echo-dopplerof neck arteries)

 Acts performed in private clinic setting

• Exercise echocardiogram  (or " stress echo ",  combines exercise test with echocardiogram ) is performed in a setting compliant with safety regulations.
• Cardiac ultrasound (or transthoracic echocardiogram or TTE) with EF measurement

In case of emergency

In case of an obvious or suspected vital emergency, please call the 15. In case of a less urgent situation or in doubt, please call your usual GP, or a home visit medical service, such as Urgences Medicales de Paris (+30153949494) or SOS Medecins (014707 77).
